About Us

 Our Story. How it all began.

It was on my 50th birthday when I heard from my employer that I was going to be made redundant. After moments of shock and mild panic, a sense of excitement and adventure started grow.

I have been teaching IT and ICT in adult education for over 27 years and until then found myself many evenings helping family and friends with their computing challenges. Beside of working for leading adult educcation colleges, I have always had private clients- mainly over 50s- that I have supported in finding confidence and keeping up to date in the fast changing world of IT.

I had seen for a long time the clear and urgent need for the generation that was not born into the computer age, to have a special training with a more unique approach focusing on how the computer is needed in the individual's life and how enriching computers can be to everyday life.

 

Looking at my passion and love for teaching, my wealth of experience in adult education and a real social need: redundancy became an opportunity and SILVERSURFERS  IT TRAINING was born.

Silverfurfers Training has been expanding since and our small team brings warm and friendly computer support and training to many into their homes.
